EXERCISE DECREASES KNEE CARTILAGE BREAKDOWN
Studies have shown that moderate-intensity exercise not only improves painful symptoms of degenerative joint disease or osteoarthritis, a leading cause of adult disability, but also modifies the progression of the disease.
Aerobic exercises like walking and weight bearing exercises improve osteoarthritis by increasing cartilage material and joint space, preventing cartilage degradation and maintaining normal joint environment. One more reason to go out there and exercise!
